Miners of Potosí

The Sumaq Urqu is not only a national icon for Bolivians, but also it’s an active Silver and Ore mine where miners have been working in extremely precarious conditions for several centuries. At 4,700 metres above sea level alcohol and chewing the coca leaf are some of the ways Bolivian miners make their days inside the mountain that eats men.
